Leila Iman is a London based Dance Artist, Facilitator, Youth Worker & Cultural Producer.
Through her work in arts community engagement across several years, Leila is dedicated to creating and building spaces where people feel safe to share their stories, feel seen and be heard especially for those from underrepresented communities. She has worked with schools, youth groups, community centres and arts organisations across London designing and delivering workshops and classes in Theatre and Dance. Clients include: Sadlers Wells Theatre, V&A, A New Direction, Siobhan Davies Dance & more.
Working across a range of research methodologies around dance and somatic practice, Leila is commited to supporting and inspiring people to return to their bodies and movement as a way to connect deeper to themselves and their communities.
As a choreographer, Leila's work is conversational and she is particularly interested in exploring social and societal issues, specifically the way we as humans coexist with one another. She actively works in interdisciplinary ways, connecting with artists who practice a medium outside of dance and particularly in settings where dance is not normally shown.
